Mountain Hospitality

Established in 2007, St. Brigid’s Rest is a place of hospitality located in the Sacramento Mountains of southern New Mexico in the historic village of Cloudcroft. St. Brigid’s is a place of rest and reflection for individuals, families, and small groups in need of peace, quiet, and an opportunity for renewal and recreation in the natural world. Located in the lush, magnificent Lincoln National Forest, Cloudcroft is also only 15 miles from the Tularosa Basin and White Sands, thus offering visitors both mountain and desert wilderness experiences in close proximity.

Visiting St. Brigid’s Rest.

The vision of St. Brigid’s Rest is to provide a ministry of hospitality, rest, and renewal. Guests are welcomed and invited to relax and recreate in whatever manner best meets their own needs for restoration and rejuvenation. For quests wishing to join the hosts for meals, every effort is made to accommodate special dietary needs. In order to maintain the tranquility of the environment, silence is normally observed after 9:00 in the evening, and some meals may be eaten in silence. While there is wireless internet access and an emergency landline telephone, there is no television.  Guests are invited to attend Sunday Eucharist, 10:00 AM, at Ascension, a mission of the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande.  St. Brigid’s is open May-Oct. 31st.

Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome at St. Brigid’s!

St. Brigid of Kildare.

St. Brigid’s Rest is a place of respite, reflection, and rejuvenation for the nurture and restoration of body, soul, mind and spirit. St. Brigid of Kildare is the patron of Ireland, of poets, of scholars, of crafts and creativity, and of travelers. We pray that all who visit St. Brigid’s may find rest from their travels, creative inspiration, and new insight; and that these magnificent mountains may nurture, refresh, and renew them.
